And finally ...

And finally - an obstinate will

What best describes us as a Party, a community and a political grouping is perhaps the following quote from the Polish philosopher Leszek Kolakowski:

"The trouble with the social democratic ideal is that it does not stock and does not sell any of the exciting commodities which various totalitarian movements – Communist, Fascist, or Leftist – offer dream-hungry youth…

"It has no prescription for the total salvation of mankind…

"It is an obstinate will to erode by inches the conditions which produce avoidable suffering, oppression, hunger, wars, racial and national hatred, insatiable greed and vindictive envy."

That is why the Labour Party fights on behalf of all of those citizens who choose to live their lives in solidarity, tolerance and respect - and why the Labour Party and its members continue to believe in a better, more just world for all.
